Ok, so I have attempted this post about a trillion times and failed for various reasons, so hopefuly this time it will actually work because I have been excited about it for ages!!!
As most of my friends know, I am always on the hunt for a bargain! If I want something I will not stop looking until I have found the best price for it, or haggled someone down.
I have always loved thrift shopping ( I am English so technicaly they are charity shops, but for the sake of this blog we'll call it thrift shopping! Its a bit of a mouthful saying 'charity shop shopping'!) and am often found rummaging through piles at boot sales and market stalls!! I always get quite excited about the prospect of finding something amazing (and I usualy do!).
After finishing my fashion course last summer, I became more aware of how garments are constructed, and how simple most of them were. This certainly isnt reflected in there prices and so I made a personal pact to not by anything brand new unless I had too! I buy all my underwear new obviously! And shoes too, (I have a rubber allergy so my shoes, unfortunatly, have to be expensive and good quality :( ), however, if I see a pair I like, I wont hesitate to buy them either. I also decided to try and support smaller businesses and labels.
SO ANYWAY... I have tried to get some good pics of my recent finds, its not everything, just the best bits.
Dress: Topshop
£4
I found this dress at a bootsale, a woman was selling all her current season clothes, it was very surreal, she had Topshop boutique heels for £5 too!! Not my size though unfortunately :(
Belt: Vintage
£1
I got this thrift shopping a few weeks ago, its so cute :D
Dress: Vintage?
Free
This dress isnt really a recent find, Ive had it a few years, some local people were moving house and had put some things out for people to take ( everyone does it round here, I live in a very 'green' neighbourhood!!) I loved the colour, I thought it was a bit too barbie to wear, but I nearly died when 'body con' dresses came back into fashion!!
Leather Jacket: Topshop
£6
Got this a few months back from a thrift shop, Id been wanting one for AGES but couldnt afford a brand new one. My boyfriend actually pointed this one out, I did want one with a hood but I settled for this one instead, but then found a hooded one the next day too :D
Leather Jacket: Topshop
£6
This is the jacket that I found the next day! I wear it EVERY day :D
Stripey top: French Connection
£3
Thrifted top, its very nice and soft and long sleeved!!
Denim Shorts: OLD!!!
£1.95
Found these the other day whilst 'thrifting' :D They're like the 80's style elasticated ones in Topshop at the moment! very comfy.
Gold ball necklace: ???
£1
Love this necklace, I wear it with everything!
Denim Jacket: Zara
£6
I had been after a denim jacket for a while but couldnt find one that fit me, so when I spotted this one in my 'regular' thrift shop I was over the moon, I was even happier when I realised it was brand new with tags on and had retailed at £49!!! The next day I was shopping and popped into Zara and spotted it on the shelves!! SOOOOO HAPPY!!
Fringed Top: handmade
I made this at the begining of the year, i havnt worn it that often though as the top is a funny length!
Skirt: Asos
£1
Found this at that bootsale were I got the dress! Also been after one of these for a while and couldnt find any floral jersey fabric so was happy with this find!
I will leave the rest for another day as that was a bit of a mission! Id be interested to know how the rest of you upload your posts as the way im doing it seems to take FOREVER!!!
Hopefuly I'll be updating alot more often from now on as I'll be having alot to post about!!
RIGHT, night :D
